Meditation Makes Treatments More Effective

I have been spending a lot of time reading about physics, particle physics in particular and its implications for our understanding of our body, its relationship to the world surrounding us, and its associations with how our physical body experiences life.  I should preface this with saying that I was never adept in physics, it confounded me in undergraduate school, in fact, I barely made it through.  However, as I delve deeper into how we heal, how we become ill, and why the body does certain things, it has become necessary to also look at physics. I will not delve into particle discussions here or try to illuminate complex studies for which I am only grasping the edges, the intent in mentioning this is to highlight one absolute fact prevalent and pervasive among much of particle physics, which is:

Everything, absolutely everything in the universe is connected, acting according to a complex interplay of energy, waves, and particles much of which is influenced by sound and light, down to the smallest, most basic elements of nature and ourselves. 

This is important on the most basic level of our individual desires to be healthy because what our cells, our DNA, our nervous system, our organs, and everything in between respond to is energy, especially that in the form of sound and light. Which means that methods used to heal our bodies must include elements which imbibe these basic energetic forms or we are missing or rather ignoring a fundamental healing potential.  The wonderful news is, harnessing this healing potential, bringing it into our lives is simple and basic, and more often than not, free.

Meditation is the most basic elemental way to connect the body with sound and light frequencies. Many traditions, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Native all use sound in prayer, for good reason, it is the basic unit of creation, as stated in the Bible: God SAID…let there be light, sound preceded light.  This is reaffirmed in Cree teachings of the beginning of the world, and in most other traditions around the world.  Sound is the beginning.  Many never learn complex chants or songs and begin only with a word: Ohm, toned from the back of the throat, deep into the abdomen, letting the vibration resonate throughout the body.  Done 10 minutes a day without attachment to an outcome, meditation and chanting have been shown to reduce physiological age, lower blood pressure, improve brain function and delay or eliminate brain decay associated with aging, improve hormonal function, strengthen immunity, improve mood, enhance sleep and magnify libido.

Mystics from every major spiritual path have long since spoken about the elements of life that exist outside of our perception, something physics has only recently been able to verify.  The best path to healing is to treat the body in a way in which inherent abilities to heal are harnessed, the healing power of nature is utilized and the body becomes more connected to its innate origin with every treatment.  Adding meditation and chanting to any healing plan will synchronize therapies like acupuncture and massage with remedies such as homeopathic, herbs and vitamins creating a unified field of persistent potential change in which our bodies are nourished from the deepest levels outward.
