How scarcity hijacks our life

Uncategorized Apr 18, 2019

Are you living life from a scarcity or an abundance mindset?

Now, I want you to think carefully, a lot of people's gut reaction is to say, I am focused on my abundance,  because they use a lot of positive thinking, but there's a vast difference between positive thinking and abundance.

Let me ask you, when you choose what foods you're going to eat or what diet you're going to follow, do you do it according to the negatives?

Those foods will inflame me, those foods will make me fat, those foods will make me feel tired, those foods are said to be bad for the gut, those foods are said to be bad for the cells. Do you choose your food that way or do you choose your foods because they can invigorate your cells and allow for energy?

Do you choose with words like these foods allow my gut to heal, these foods nourish my thyroid, these foods turn my liver into a hormone converting amazing machine, these foods nourish my spleen, these foods nourish my kidneys?

You see, making...

Addiction to stress or freedom?

Uncategorized Apr 16, 2019

A lot of us are terrified to end the effects of stress in our life.

Sounds strange, doesn't it? Terrified…..but, many of us are addicted to the adrenaline state associated with high stress.

We don't think we are, we think, oh my gosh, I'd love a break, oh my gosh, I’d love to have some rest, but the reality is, the adrenaline state is hyper addictive.

It is why we like high-intensity exercise and why we like extreme diets and why we like to be multitasking and to have a million things to do, and why we like it when our phone is constantly buzzing with notifications.

Our cells are used to a high adrenaline state. We are comfortable living there and even though it is definitely the cause of cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, diabetes, chronic pain and arthritis among many other things, we are terrified to let it go.

There's a part of us that fears….if I step out of that, then what the heck is there?

I won't get anything done. I’ll be useless.

Isn't it time?

Uncategorized Apr 14, 2019

There's something funny I've observed over and over, we will, without pause, take time off for illness.

When we've ignored our health long enough and it actually turns into something that requires surgery or hospitalization or bed rest, we manage to make that happen.

We take time off work, we take time off our life, we spend money on our therapies, we make it a priority. At the same time, people in our life, they manage to still eat, they don't fall apart.

But I've noticed that we balk many times in many ways, at taking time off of our life for healing, as if that is a gratuitous use of our time. It's as if people regard time spent on health to be equivalent to a spa day or a spa weekend. Not that those would be bad things to do, but it's almost as if taking time off for healing is ridiculous without there being horrific illness or horrific consequences that we're trying to deal with.

So are you waiting for a horrific reason to take time for healing? Are you waiting for it to be so...

Ready to live a new story?

Uncategorized Apr 02, 2019

I just read an article talking about how our lives are really a compilation of the narrative that we've put together to represent our lives, and at any moment we can change that narrative.

We can make small edits and in doing so we can alter what the story says, and because we are the authors of the story, we are in effect altering so much more than that. We were altering the future. We're altering the present, altering the past. So, the question becomes what are the edits that were willing to make? What does it look like to edit our story?

I have found that edits to the story come with choosing a definitive next step and definitive next option for action transformation and change.

Staking the claim in a space that we've never been in before. Starting to believe in something that we had never played.

Faith.

It's funny, but the reason why so many of us keep having the same experiences is because we're living in the same narrative that we've been living out our whole life.

Can you afford not to fix it?

Uncategorized Mar 31, 2019

It was a study done about 10 years ago and it shows the amounts we waste being sick.

Some of them weren't surprising...cancer treatments, x number of thousands of dollars per month.

The things that were surprising where things like the $2,000 we waste every year just being tired.

$2,000 a year just to be tired.

It adds up.

That coffee you just had to grab because you couldn't make it through the afternoon. The impulse buy at the supplement store or even a target, on that energy booster, the reading a blog post and buying someone's $49 program to reset your whole body, the this autoimmune protocol book, the this heal your thyroid book, the adrenal fatigue protocol.

$2,000 a year is the minimum exhausted people spend. If you add on to that, actually having a diagnosed condition: adrenal issues, thyroid problems, SIBO, chronic pain, depression, anxiety… we can begin to extrapolate how that $2000 turns into another $1000, $2000, or even $3000 quickly.

Yet statistically...

Saying YES to life

Uncategorized Mar 29, 2019

Yes

Three little letters we rarely utter authentically.

What I mean by that is, we have a propensity to go with NO.

In fact, most people's default answer is no.

To say yes, we have to deviate from layers upon layers of programmed response.

I know that's been true for me, my default voice, the one which likes to have meaningless conversations...begins many conversations with no.

I wonder what this influence of no is doing to our existence.

No is an interesting word itself.

When you say no, you can feel the change right away there's a contracting force, a shutdown, a rigidity that happens with no.

We do this when offered a new opportunity, a change of life and especially with transformation.

Our first response is often NO.

I hear it all the time...women who say, I cannot live this way any longer, I am exhausted, I am worn out, I know my hormones are off, I know that my body is not anywhere close to thriving and I know it's robbing me of my essential self, but...

Routine kills the best efforts

Uncategorized Mar 27, 2019

Routine is a funny thing. Most of us are living life-based, solely on routine, same patterns, same practices over and over and over and over.

We like routine as humans, it lets us actually disconnect our awareness. There's probably at least 99.999% of your day that you can do on autopilot because you do it all the time.

Routine can be being tired, being exhausted, because we are adaptable creatures, we adapt to the process of being so tired to the point of missing inherent life meaning.

There we are, walking through the steps mimicking the motions, but there's absolutely nothing of value behind it.

Routine can be having a brain that's incredibly foggy and having the consequential low mood and anxiety and sense of disconnect and life futility that comes with it.

The funny thing is most people still like their routine more than the idea of change and when we make decisions from the place of routine, which is what most of us are doing, we sadly get more of the same in...

Saving you 100K

Uncategorized Mar 25, 2019

The other day someone was recounting to me how they had gone $20,000 in debt for the care their spouse needed because they had pain and inflammation and it hadn't been taken care of and they ended up needing medical intervention that cost $20,000... that's one true story of millions.

I have spoken to people who went more than a $100,000 in debt because of medical bills related to chronic health conditions that honestly had another solution.

Those are all examples of people who waited too long to actually try to solve something because:

It wasn't the right time

They didn't want to invest the money

They weren't ready for change

They had a vacation to save for

They needed new carpet

They might need a new car

They think it would be irresponsible

They didn't believe in themselves

They didn't want to use a credit card

In each case, they waited and the cost was exponential.

Those are just small examples of what happens to people all the time because they wait and...

That voice in your head is holding you back

Uncategorized Mar 18, 2019

Have you ever wondered how much of your external life is being dictated by the voice in your head?

Pay attention to what the words are that this voice likes to say. If they tend to be, this is great, I love this. Wow. How lucky am I? Oh my gosh, I couldn't be more in love with life or if they tend to be, why me? Oh Great. Here we go again. God, I'm so tired. Why can't I get a break? Why it does this keep happening?

Which one's more common to you?

I know for me, especially in the past when it came to needing a break, slowing down, admitting just how worn out I really was, how tired I was of chasing this food, that food, this diet, that diet, this exercise, that exercise, this magic supplement, that magic superfood, and having that perpetual sense of let down that I done that one thing and done it diligently without relief or real change…..those voices were perpetually negative.

I spent years doing that to myself, even as a doctor, because the truth was I was wearing myself...
